Once upon a time, in a galaxy not so far away, lived a little cosmic dust bunny named Pip. Pip had a peculiar perception: he believed that the ethic of happiness was to always agreeable. If someone offered him a ride on their maglev spaceship, he'd say, "Sure!" even if he secretly wanted to stay home and read. If a grumpy alien wanted to grant him a wish, Pip would wish for more wishes, just to be polite. His anchor to this belief was a story his grandma told him about a star that shone brighter when it agreed with everything. But one day, Pip met a wise old comet who said, "Pip, being agreeable is nice, but sometimes, you need to be you. What if the grumpy alien wanted to grant you a wish that made you unhappy? Your anchor is yourself, not a story." Pip thought about it. Maybe, just maybe, his own feelings were the most important thing. It was a cosmic realization, a new perception that didn't need to grant everyone's wishes, but could grant himself the freedom to be happy, even if it meant not always being agreeable. His old ethic was being replaced by a new one, one that didn't need a maglev or a story to keep him steady, but an inner anchor.
